This telephone box is the NSW Temperate Style dome roof phone box dating between 1950-1970's.

All of the original dome roof boxes came with an asbestos and concrete bonded lid desinged from the earlier K3 models. The windows are made up of louvre glass held in by cast aluminium window frames that screw into the window panel. These boxes come in either red with black, orange (aka telecom gold) with green/grey, green with dark green or just plain red. Even though the original roof design is white with black trims the roof took on many different colour schemes. The ceiling tiles were done in a perforated kanite for accoustics. The light housing has a frosted glass panel situated in the centre of the ceiling on a hinged panel that swings down to access the light. Hand rails were also common in this model for all 3 sides of the box. Backboards were installed to house the heavy CT model payphones that were used in this model for over 40 years.
