Beware Of Fakes And Reproductions

In this site you have seen the original designs on some of the types of telephone kiosks/boxes/cabinets that were released by PMG, APO and Telecom. Often we find that a minority of people who sell an old phone box don't really know much about the history or design of boxes and may pass on a historically incorrect item or a complete fake, on to other un-suspecting collectors. As with any collectable this will affect the value of your item negatively. Please check before you purchase/sell any telephone box to try and prevent back yard operators from passing on these fakes. This may also take the form of using original parts to make a complete unit from different models. Whilst the parts are original, the box will still lose it's collectable value significantly as the complete unit is not an original one. Insist on a call sign or cabinet number when purchasing a phone box to ensure you get the real thing or call me anytime and I can help you determine whether its fake or an original box.
